When I’m between books and one is available at the library I pick it up, which is how I ended up listening to The Overnight Kidnapper. Montalbano has to figure out who is committing this attacks and why the last one seems to have veered away fro m the pattern. Like Carl Hiaasen, Camilleri usually finds enough criminal insanity in his local newspaper on which to base a story.

One can only hope that the inspector will have a long and happy career so that we can continue to enjoy his activities and the workings of his process of reasoning out the identity of the culprits.
