I liked the Australian setting, the wholesomeness, and the unhurried tone. This is a lovely, quiet little book.
The reason why I believe that it is not as good because it doesn't have as much detail as most other book.
It's so hard for me staying here all alone, When you could be taking me for a ride. Down by the river, I shot my baby. Bu once I got further in I got used to it and it was an alright read.
An amazing tale of an Australian childhood, perfectly rendered.
Filmmaker Richard Linklater called this experimental travel film "a brave and sincere attempt at communication." The book consisting of many poems, is a bildungsroman; traditionally a coming of age story.

Great choice for an all boys school. His father has built a nurturing home for the boys, though some wagging tongues are quick to criticize. There was something safe and easy about reading it.
Harry and his brother Keith spend their days fishing, chasing butterflies in Cowpers paddock, and hanging with Johnny Barlow, the boy with the quickest fists in school. A likable, perceptive, sensitive teen, he is intuitive beyond his years.
