In 1500s England, a cruel witch-hunting magistrate, who often tortures innocent villagers for his entertainment, runs afoul of a witch who conjures a banshee to kill the magistrate and his family. The one is the shadow of the other. The story of Dark Shadows begins with newly hired governess Victoria Winters arriving at Collinwood, the Collins' estate in Collinsport, Maine in search of her mysterious origins. But even an ocean was not enough to escape the mysterious curse that has plagued their family. In all, I would say that this film may appeal more to those who never saw any of the original versions of this than the fans of them. The forms of bodies could not be understood in detail but for shadow.
