In the assignment Sweco has assisted the client with lease negotiations, planning and design, tendering and implementation.Aside from Sweco’s project managers, our electrical engineering and automation consultants have been involved in in the mall’s electrical and control systems as coordinator and operational tester.For Grontmij, which was contracted by PEAB, the assignment as lead designer with responsibility for coordination of sub-suppliers’ engineering work has been the company’s largest by a wide margin.Mall of Scandinavia has been certified according to the global environmental and sustainability standard BREEAM with a rating of Excellent in the Design Stage. Westfield Mall of the Netherlands is the only location where the two supermarkets are located together, providing customers with greater choice. These will include the world’s most immersive VR experience venture, The Void, The O’Learys event centre of 3,300 sqm and an exceptional area dedicated to food and drinks with 22 dining options.Demonstrating the centre’s focus on experience, the 2,500+ sqm buy-and-eat food market, FRESH!, is already trading and attracting in excess of 400,000 visitors every month.
