I respect her so much, am so grateful that she is basically responsible for Teen Vogue “becoming woke,” and admire the work she put into the magazine. This wonderful book, which I kept seeing posts about on Facebook from my Brite Divinity friends, gave me lots to think about for the coming year. She gave me a boost and I'm just so grateful. While it’s her story, there is a plethora of advice for anyone seeking more, who may doubt themselves from time to time.

Tries a smidge too hard to be empowering. I couldn’t get past the mediocre writing to focus on the concept.

Along the way, she gives so many insightful life lessons that include building self worth, making room for self-discovery, navigating self-identity (with an emphasis on navigating her own biracial background), finding relationships and opportunities that work, among other helpful life bits. I questioned what message I would get out of this but Elaine's story is captivating, inspiring, and amazing to read. But the author managed to open my eyes to a few things I didn't realize. Moses discusses topics such as: simple living, use of financial resources, sustainable use of energy and water, growing our own food, and even making our clothes! With a blend of practical reflection and insight on topics from guilt to delight, "More than Enough" goes beyond a call to gratitude and generosity and invites the reader to a new way of life, one that is grounded in the hope and grace of God. The story of how she pursued her dreams and her work as the editor in chief at Teen Vogue is captivating.

Moses uses Scripture, the desert mothers and fathers, contemporary writers like James Baldwin and Barbara Kingsolver, theologians like Marcus Borg and Sam Wells, and movies, as well as her own experiences at home, traveling abroad, and leading her small congregation in Greensboro, North Carolina to wrestle with this question as a Christian, a pastor, a middle-class American, and as a mother of two kids. With a quick timeframe, Elaine became Editor of Teen Vogue, and shortly after that, was named Editor-in-Chief.Shonda Rhimes helped coin a phrase that epitomized Elaine, which is FOD – First, Only and Different.While attempting to balance the idea of championing all African-Americans, she knew she had to pick and choose the best ways to do this. Her good humor and ability to not make it a self-help, do this and all will be well book made it an excellent read. How can heaven meet earth? Total disappointment. Moses discusses topics such as: simple living, use of financial resources, sustainable use of energy and water, growing our own food, and even making our clothes!
