If you have a good competitive moveset for Tyranitar, This set gives him enough speed to out-run Politoed and if you run Jolly Ninetales. I would like to point out that I have a Bug type Scizor in my team and do not worry about Psychic types.
Tyranitar's STAB combination and very respectable offensive capability make it a premier Stealth Rock setter capable of deterring Defoggers like Noivern, offensive Galarian Weezing, and Skarmory from easily removing its hazards.
It can take hits while it builds speed, then it can stop opponents in their tracks. afterall ikt has fire punch (i prefur fang but nm)@omnominglikeabaws I also run D-Dance on mine and Aerial Ace for type coverage. Payback works well with slow, bulky sets, but Crunch is still the superior choice by a lot.Neither... especially not Giga Impact.
Please give comment and feedback I would love to know what you guys have to say.Does anyone use Mega Tyranitar? Crunch is better than both.
Also, Mega Tyranitar runs Dragon Dance the majority of the time and won't always go last. It's very similar to a couple mentioned before but has a slight twist.Shell bell is more for if you want to use your leftovers on one of your other Pokemon. Stealth Rock: One of the best entry hazards, helps keep certain threats at bay.Crunch/Payback: Deals good damage of T-tar's great attack stat. Payback will be weak against phazers such as Lugia and Giratina-O, though.
But the flinching and speed boost can be a deadly combination, So i'd go with either moveset.I would like to point out that in your comment you mentioned you prefer Crunch over Rock Polish because crunch makes others flinch. Vote for this card Crunch/Payback: Deals good damage of T-tar's great attack stat. If heads, the Defending Pokémon is now Paralyzed. I prefer the mix.Dragon dance is absolutely amazing with mega tyranitar because mega tyranitar can practically take any physical move with ease, which allows 2 easy dragon dances. It has superior power to Payback, plus a nice secondary effect. Doesn't it have a higher base Attack?Ericflores1986 you are the only person has a brain thunder is amazing my level 91 golem nose it and it's very good hyper beam expensive but good best normal type move dragon claw my 100 drudigon nows it Payback is an alternative to Crunch on much slower variants, as it usually becomes more powerful, but it has fewer PP and forgoes the chance of a Defense drop. I use him a lot myself on pokemon showdown.i only have gen 5 and below but my normal lvl 100 tyranitar with fire fang, earthquake, crunch and dragon claw, so i dont see why people go nuts over mega.
Dark Pulse is another interesting alternative to hit Rotom-A hard even in case of a burn, and it also hits Reflect Starmie for more damage; however, Crunch is almost always better.
